Teru Teru Bozu!

By Josh Lopez

March 27, 2023— Already a week into spring for the new year and winter blessed the Inland Empire with a ton of heavy rain perfect to deal with the drought that California suffers from. May this rainy season come with a closure and remind those who don’t like the rain that although it was constantly wet, it’s good for our environment and prevents us from having to pay a lot for our water bill.

As for your humble writer I loathe the rain so sit back you eccentric reader cause I’m about to complain to you as to why I hate the rain.

Spoiler this is my personal opinion, so either you agree with me or not; take it with a grain of salt. It's not that deep, bro. For starters I love winter. I get to wear my favorite hoodies and windbreaker or jacket along with it, but what I can’t stand is the rain. The rain is like an ex. They come back only to ruin your day.

Don’t even get me started with driving. Whether you’re going somewhere or not, driving is a real pain. According to The Department of Transportation “ 75 percent of weather-related vehicle crashes occur on wet pavement and 47 percent happen during rainfall.” Great way to pay for vehicle damages if you’re into that, so why drive? Just stay home.

Yeah sure the rain sounds and looks pretty from outside your window, but really try to convince me that it’s wonderful to get wet from cold ass rain coming from the clouds; might as well go take a shower in full clothing if you really want to get wet that bad.

You can already get the idea how much I despise the rain, but as I stated earlier, it’s a reminder that we need it. Sure I might hate the rain but it’s good for our mother earth, so I can’t complain that much. My apologies for sounding so bitter. I don't like the rain, so thanks for coming to my Ted Talk enjoy the rest of your day.
