Q. What is a Board Meeting?

  1. A Board Meeting is a place where leaders of an organization, commonly known as a “Board”, invites members of the public or organization into a space to discuss matters in an organization.

  1. The purpose of Board Meetings’ is to keep organizations on track with matters, and to have a place where an organization comes together to regroup on the matters presented to the organization.  

 Q. Who is allowed to attend the meetings? 

  1. Members of the organization that is holding the Board meetings, members of the public, and government officials. 

Q. Does San Bernardino Valley College have Board Meetings? 

  1. Yes. San Bernardino Valley College has board meetings and they are known as “The Board Of Trustees”.

Q. Do I need to bring documents to the Board Meetings? 

  1. NO. You are allowed to just attend. However, According to the SBVC website, “As a matter of law, members of the Board may not discuss or respond to public comments unless the matters are properly noticed for discussion or action in Open Session.”

  1. According to San Bernardino Valley College, Board meeting dates and times notices are distributed to the public about 72 hours or 3 days before taking place. Board meetings usually take place every month.

  1. According to the Valley College website, Board meetings usually take place in the SBCCD Boardroom, at 550 E. Hospitality Ln., Suite 200, San Bernardino, CA,
